Learn to Enjoy the Game – 12BET Poker Omaha

Pot Limit Omaha holds a lot of action for the discerning casino fan. It offers a lot of action and excitement for fans of live casinos and avid 12BET fans. Players receive 4 cards—also known as hole cards—which is followed by betting rounds and an additional distribution of 5 community cards. Players will receive the best 5 card poker hand through this, consisting of exactly 2 cards from their hand and exactly 3 cards from the community cards.

Dealer Button

The dealer button, located near the end of the table, designates whoever is the acting dealer. In this game, the player on button, also the last active player that’s nearest to the button, makes the last move on all post-flop streets of play.

The Blinds

At the start of every round, two players at the table are required to post blinds (forced bets) to begin a session of wagering. Without the pot, the game wouldn’t be too exciting since there is nothing to compete for.

Antes

Pot Limit Omaha also lets players wager Antes, or a small amount which all the players on the table puts into the Pot before the distribution of hands begins. Antes are posted before Blinds are wagered.

Pot-Limit

Minimum raise: The raise amount must be at least equal to the previous bet or raise in the same round.

Maximum raise: The raise amount should be equal to size of active pot + all bets on table + (2 x call amount)

Example: Player1 placed a bet 2000 making the total pot 3000. Now, Player2 can raise to a maximum of 9000 (3000 + 2000 + (2 x 2000)).

Gameplay

When Antes and Blinds are posted, four Hole cards (private cards) are distributed to each player. The 1st Betting round begins, with the player next to the Dealer button going first. The Flop (three community cards dealt in the middle of the table) is also laid down.

The 2nd Betting round follows. The play begins with action from the player after the Dealer button. The “Turn” is dealt after the Flop, after which the 3rd Betting round starts. The “River” is dealt after the Turn card. This initiates the 4th and Final Betting round.

Betting Round

During the Betting round in this live casino game, players take their turns one at a time, in a clockwise fashion. The first player to move is the one located after the dealer button. They can also move after the Big Blind (1st Betting round) has been posted. Those moving after the first player should do one of the following:

Check: Take no action and let the next player take his turn. This action can only be taken if there is NO bet/raise to call.

Call: Match the amount bet/raised by another player.

Bet/Raise: Increase the bet within the specific limits of the game.

Fold: Discard your hole cards and surrender any claim to the Pot.

Showdown

There are a lot of similarities between this game and other card games, the Showdown being one of them. In this round, all players that are still in contest for the Pot will show their Hands to compare. The cards of the player with the best Hand will be displayed.

Winning Hand

The winning player’s best five card Poker Hand will come from exactly 2 cards from the players hole cards and exactly 3 cards from the Community cards.
