Just hours after Norwich City’s 2-1 win against Brentford, their first league win in eleven games so far this season, the announced that manager Daniel Farke will depart Carrow Road. “Norwich City can confirm that head coach Daniel Farke has left the club with immediate effect,” the statement read. Meanwhile, just a day after Norwich’s announcement, Aston Villa also confirmed that they officially parted ways with Smith following a 1-0 loss to Southampton, their fifth consecutive league defeat. “Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that the club have parted company with head coach Dean Smith,” the statement read. They sit 15th in the Premier League, just two points above the relegation zone.

The club CEO Christian Purslow added: “When Dean joined us in October 2018 our team was really struggling in The Championship. He immediately transformed the atmosphere and performances and achieved the ultimate success of leading Villa back to the Premier League within the same season – a rare feat.
